The world is run by Politics but without Compassion, Justice, Trust, and Honor there are only failed Policies. There has to come a time when we put our Compassion before every Policy and then the World will be a better place for all.
...we have had "peace talks for the last 20 years. Actually, three days ago, four days ago, we had the 18th anniversary of the Oslo Accords that were signed in 1993. What did we get as Palestinians in return of all the peace agreement that we made with Israel?
Israel planting our territories with illegal settlements. Israel refusal to sit down engage with us in a genuine, meaningful negotiations to end the conflict. We have been urging the Israelis to talk about security and borders, and the Israeli government - for more than one reason - are adamant about refusing to sit down with the Palestinians to discuss an end to the conflict."
In Nashville, TN, in Sept. 2000, I brought my 3 boys to the State Fair for the first time. My oldest could ride the bumper cars but my second son was not tall enough. He just barely missed the height requirement. So I promised that I would bring them to the State Fair the next year. Throughout the year they kept asking and looking forward to the fair... I kept promising them I would bring them. I hardly ever make promises to the kids... we usually say, "We will see." But the fair was so much fun for them, I was homeschooling, and the wristband was something I knew we could afford.
"I promise."
But as Fate would have it... Sept. 11th happened and the kids were still begging to go and I couldn't explain why we couldn't go. I didn't want to scare them or make them afraid to go outside like me.
The video below reminded me of my broken promise. Ten years later and we still have not gone to another State Fair.
Scary... Just don't get why some people in Murfreesboro are so threatened and why they are acting like this. Muslims have been part of this community for many many years and MTSU is very diverse. Hopefully people will wake up and join together to tackle the real challenges that all communities face: ie. public education, poverty, economy, etc...
Facing an intense Europe-wide boycott campaign, Israel’s largest produce exporter, Agrexco, filed for bankruptcy. French multinational Veolia, an urban systems corporation contracted with the Israeli government to provide light rail services for Israeli settlers in the West Bank, announced massive losses due to sustained pressure by activists around the world.
Meanwhile, in Sweden, the Israeli maker of home carbonation devices, Sodastream, took a direct hit when the Coop supermarket chain announced on 19 July that it would stop all purchases of its products due to the company’s activity in illegal Israeli settlements. This marked another important victory for the, as Sweden is Sodastream’s largest market, with an estimated one in five households owning a Sodastream product (“Coop Sweden stops all purchases of Soda Stream carbonation devices,” 21 July 2011).
Clancy Chassay spent a month in Gaza talking to civilians, medics and investigators about allegations of war crimes during Israel's 23-day campaign in Gaza
Israel has some of the most sophisticated military weapons with superb optics. They have technology that can clearly see its targets, film the attacks, and check to see the result of the attacks. Yet they still kill women, families having tea in their courtyard, medical workers trying to help the injured, and hospitals (not one, not two, not three, but fifteen!! Therefore, not an accident!!). They also use children to clear houses before the soldiers enter them to see if they are. They capture, detain, and mentally torture these children for days on end with their parents not knowing if they are dead or alive.
“Our primary purpose is to draw the world’s attention to what is going on in Gaza and to push the international community to end the unfair embargo imposed by Israel.”
